Very sad incident! It required a commisioner level senior police officer to properly check and realise that the kid is still alive! The lower officers definitely need better training

Police don't bother to check for a pulse. Could be because of superstition or distaste for touching dead bodies ingrained by casteism. They'd rather risk letting someone who's injured die than touch a body they think is dead. Our taxes are honestly wasted on the police force.
