His campaign funds have risen by a couple thousand dollars in the last few days, with people donating every few hours. The GofundMe, which was originally set at $350,000, quickly surpassed the original goal, raising over half a million dollars. The family has since raised the goal multiple times and the new goal is now sitting at $1.3 MILLION, with over $614,000 of donations received. Back in April of 2025, Karmelo Anthony fatally stabbed Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet and the family quickly started the GofundMe, which they have since used for “counseling”, “legal defense” and “everyday expenses”.
