Sometimes the gimmick overpowers the music. Contrast this duo to Buckethead who's musical virtuosity overpowers the gimmick.

I completely understand why some people just don’t like it. It’s weird as heck. The costumes are strange and the music is, too. But, for some people, it all just works. I hated it at first, but it’s really grown on me. It is musically solid and, when you acquire the taste, it rocks. Go figure…
