We followed a team of animal welfare advocates as they attempted to bust an alleged illegal breeder caught on undercover video trying to sell puppies for $100. What unfolded took us from the streets of Skid Row to a Los Angeles home where dogs could be seen inside — and offered a glimpse into a much larger problem advocates say is getting worse: dogs being neglected, abused, bred for profit, sold and even exposed to dangerous drugs. Federal authorities are now offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the successful prosecution of animal abusers under federal law.
