Escaflowne was amazing. Soberb animation ahead of its time.

Man the Escaflowne movie was written and designed by fucking edge lords. I'll stick to the tv show. I prefer the magitek suit to the bio-horror version.

Movie was cool, but absolutely do NOT sleep on the series. OG Escaflowne is still one of my faves.

I didn't like organic suit in the movie. The mechanical armor in the tv series was way cooler honestly.

I just had to do a deep-dive on this and learned that the American version I saw was HEAVILY altered and even whole episodes cut bc I definitely remember this anime but there was no blood at all and kinda didn’t make sense but I still liked it and it ended early
