Anker put a display on its latest Nano charger. It identifies the device it's charging (Apple) and also knows how much the device has charged. Cool stuff...

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman: When OpenAI releases its device, Apple can just immediately fast-follow it and take all its market share. "Apple has the retail stores, the privacy story, the brand. OpenAI has this great AI brand, but they don't have a hardware brand." "I just think the bar to sell people hardware, even if it's good, and even if it comes from a big brand, it's a really high bar. It's a really high bar to sell in these Apple-like quantities."

Made a little device that manages my claude code’s & codex’s on my server… Simple esp32 s3 chip by waveshare. The orchestrator agent works with voice, controls my device remotely with tools, and controls the server. It’s a cool time to make stuff.

Neuralink implant is a hardware upgrade that sits flush with the skull, replacing a small piece of bone with a battery-powered Bluetooth device "This Neuralink device has a battery, Bluetooth, and an inductive charger. Then, you've also got to insert the electrodes The electrodes are very carefully inserted with a robot that we developed. It is very carefully putting in the electrodes and avoiding any veins or arteries, so it doesn't create trauma It's basically implanted in your skull. It would be flush with your skull, so you basically take out a chunk of skull and replace it with the Neuralink device You insert the electrode threads very carefully into the brain, stitch it up, and you wouldn't even know that somebody has it"

Device Hub in Xcode 27.1 has a hidden Action Bar specifically for iPhone Duo. It gives you a lot more control over the device angle, and you can quickly switch between 5 device poses with keyboard shortcuts. There’s also a “Table Mode” control. To enable: defaults write com\.apple.dt.Devices com\.apple.dt.coredevicepop.useInternalV68ActionBar -bool true and restart Device Hub. The iPhone Duo simulator also comes with a hidden HingeStatePoster wallpaper.

BOOMI MY NEW GROK DEVICE! I HAVE Grok ON AN OLD APPLE WATCH MADE IN TO A RETRO IPOD! Still working on it but my goal to have a remote single purpose Grok device has been achieved! With the benefits of posting my grifter slop on to X from this device also (that is another article). And a minimal phone. So how did I do it? First I got this IPod converter kit: it is a beautiful device to hold made of Aluminum. Second I got this app: “Ask Watch AI” it has a free version. Third I got my XAI Grok API Key: Toss a few bucks in the account to fund it. Finally I set up the system by answering questions. This is my first run. I am coding an app for the Apple Watch that will be easier than pressing “done”. I will write a full article on it as soon as I get it done. My goal is to use the cell plan on this Apple Watch and to have a minimal phone and Grok device. Soon these devices will be sent to Starlink. With full Grok Bot and Grok Build. No need for an OS or an App. Obviously this is an Apple Watch but soon it will be a device like this of course with a camera too.

Been experimenting with Apple's new Core AI framework over the past few days Built a mobile app that runs local AI models directly on device, exploring Core AI model deployment (.aimodel), model specialization, caching, and inference across Apple Silicon Also spent some time integrating with Apple's Foundation Models framework and understanding how custom models can coexist with Apple's on-device AI stack Still early, but the combination of Core AI, Foundation Models, and the Apple Neural Engine feels like a pretty compelling foundation for local first AI applications Still in alpha and working towards a more stable version, but it's been a fun way to explore where Apple's on device AI ecosystem is headed !!

ALERT: Florida woman’s wheelchair explodes in her driveway after she charged it with an off-brand charger. Alexandra Anaya purchased the wheelchair from a thrift store in Hollywood, Florida, and was charging it with a non-manufacturer charger when a clicking noise woke her up. Anaya then searched online and realized the wheelchair was an imminent threat, so she brought it outside before the battery exploded. Hollywood Fire Rescue and Beach Safety are urging the public to use the correct charger, check batteries for excess heat while charging, and never leave batteries charging unattended.

We’re told last week’s train derailment in Regina over a bridge was caused by a portable derailer device. A crew set up the safety device while working on the bridge and forgot to remove it. The train engineer didn’t see it and hit the device which derailed the train over the side of the bridge.
