Annotations in Dev Mode is now live! As a Figma designer, I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with marking up a file. Today, I’m writing about how this feature came to be — for both design and dev. Scroll 🧵 and/or read the blog:

So, Figma finally updated annotations, a feature we've all been waiting for. It's great in theory, but it's only visible to full-seat or dev mode users, and most of my team members aren't either. I’m working on a component-based workaround that works for everyone. Stay tuned.

I say this, and in no means throwing shade at Cursor, but using the new design mode really makes me appreciate the speed of interactions in Figma and Framer. I will absolutely be testing it out in my own workflow, and love that an IDE finally is adding a browser view and selection UX for local dev support, especially one as powerful as cursor... But i'll wait until undo works. I mean... how am I supposed to design without cmd+z?

Page dividers in Figma is a feature I’m badly missing. Seeing how many projects in the community use the “hack” on the left makes me think I’m not the only one. And yes, this is a Figma prototype of... Figma.
