I guess it's not dramatic and negative enough for you to cover properly as you didn't even bother to credit me, and didn't put a link to my twitter in the description of your video, despite covering MY concert that I organized, and discussing MY event, however briefly. This concert was the result of MONTHS of hard work, and was organized, planned, and paid for entirely by myself. All the singers had to do was submit their vocals and participate in posting some promotional graphics, which I also made for them. I wanted the concert to be something positive for the community to enjoy, and despite it being a fairly large event featuring 22 VTubers, you decide only to mention it in passing after the concert has already happened and through the tiny lens of reading one of the singers twitter QRTs about it. The way this was reported on was, in my opinion, very disrespectful, and I understand that it's your "news" channel and you can do what you like with it, but I don't appreciate the lack of credit given in this instance despite the fact that this event was entirely created by me. Do better.

Rebel News Live will be in Calgary on Saturday, October 31 at the Carriage House Hotel and Conference Centre. Then, we're heading to Vancouver on Saturday, November 14. And then it's on to Toronto, where we'll be at the Canada Christian College in Whitby on November 21. Three cities, three incredible days, and I want to see you there. Now, if you've never been to one of our live events before, let me tell you what it's like, because I genuinely believe there's nothing else like it in Canada. We've been doing these gatherings for years, and every single time without fail, the thing people tell me afterwards, the thing they remember most isn't any particular speech, as good as the speeches are. It's the feeling in the room. It's walking in and realizing you are surrounded by hundreds of Canadians who think the way you think, who care about the things you care about, who've been watching the same stories you've been watching and asking the same questions you've been asking. People who have felt, frankly, a little bit alone in their communities and who suddenly realized they are not alone at all. That is what Rebel News Live is. It's a convention. It's a family reunion of sorts. It's a day where you get to be yourself completely without apology, and once you've experienced it, you keep coming back. Our attendees know what I mean. We have regulars. Now, who's going to be there this fall? I'll be there. Sheila Gunn Reed will be there. Tamara Lich will be there, and the Rebel News team will be joining us. Doors open at 8 a.m. in the morning with a light breakfast, then a full slate of speeches and panel discussions, the kind of conversations you would never see on the CBC. After that, it's a catered lunch, more speakers in the afternoon, and for VIP ticket holders, an exclusive dinner with me, Sheila, Tamara, and our guests at the end of the night. And in between all that, we've got a full merchandise store on site. There will be Rebel News toques and hoodies and mugs and books, and yes, I will be there to sign them. We'll have other sponsors and exhibitor booths from some of the best freedom-oriented businesses and organizations in the country, people you want to know about causes worth supporting and groups doing the real work on the issues that matter. It's worth showing up early to spend some time at those booths before the speeches begin. It's the best gathering of freedom-minded Canadians anywhere in the country. I've been saying that for years and I keep saying it because it keeps being true. Now, I need to be straight with you about one thing, these events sell out every single year without exception. A story is a five second moment of change. A story is not a sequence of events; it's about transformation. Weave in U-turns and unexpected flips. 2. Write like you talk. Natural, conversational, led by stories. 3. A formula for a great story: Intention + Obstacle. At all moments, the listener should know what the hero wants and what's stopping them from getting there. This one's from Aaron Sorkin, who wrote The Social Network. 4. Work backwards from the emotion you're trying to create in the reader. Then let the structure follow. 5. Aim for strong reactions. If you can get the reader to widen their eyes, raise their eyebrows, and/or burst out laughing, they will share your work. 6. Don't write to the faceless masses. Write to one specific person. BuzzFeed writers used to write to "Debbie at her Desk," the bored woman at her desk who wanted a 5-minute distraction. 7. “Likeability” is downstream of vulnerability. The more honestly you share your challenges, the more invested your reader gets. Write your heart out. 8. Don't be the 9,000 IQ guy. Stop competing in imaginary intelligence contests and start telling stories. Big words alienate but tight narratives pull people in. 9. Forget resumes and portfolios. Create a “binge bank” instead. A binge bank is a set of videos or essays that people can binge on. Stack up material so that when people do go down your rabbit hole, they come out the other side a fan. 10. Mere practice gets you nowhere. But intentional practice leads to exponential progress. Always learn from your attempts and make intelligent tweaks on the next try. 11. Comedy is great, but definitely don't make every sentence a joke. 12. Comedy is a pretty easy way to improve your writing. The essence of all comedy is surprise. Study your favorite comedians. Read books like How to Write Funny and The Hidden Tools of Comedy. 13. For better storytelling, Shaan recommends two books: Storyworthy and Building a Storybrand. 14. How to make headlines juicy: use specific and odd numbers, focus on the first three words and the last three words, use "you" whenever possible, and know that longer is typically better than shorter. 15. Your writing should only be as long as it is interesting. An uninteresting 20 second reel will fail; an interesting 30-minute essay will win. But you must be honest while gauging how objectively interesting your piece is…in a world with infinite content. 16. Most people think writing is about transferring information but writing is just as much about transferring emotion. Emotion gets people to take action (like, share, buy…).
