this is great

*cluade caude please finish the project right now ThePrimagen commented that it is great* but seriously would be stoked to get your comprehensive review once it is coming out!!

glad to try it out

damn bro is winning the dmitriy race

It's a lot of competition

I’m going to have to adapt this for lazyvim aren’t I

you probably are lol

Let me know when you're ready to invite people to help out. Always happy to contribute where I can

@sabine_s_ spotted

Dude, that is absolutely awesome. How can I try it? I’m actually almost never use file search because I never can find anything relevant from the first 2 attempts - that’s because I prefer old fashioned keeping the folder structure in my head and use things like oil. I’m so excited.

Gosh! Happy to see your excitement, I think I can invite you to the private repo cause the project needs some love to become public 100%

My GitHub handle is “aka-toxa”

This looks amazing! Do you happen to support the ivy “theme”/“layout” where the picker isn’t at the center of the screen, something like this (not my picture)?:

Not really. UI is very basic so far

Ah, it’s a minor preference of mine, no big deal. Anyway - you have a really cool plugin dude, I love the demo. Is there any way I can test drive it?

I love to see ReScript files <3

holy shit, can't wait to use this to save 0.5 secs more to work on my b2b saas

@sudo_goreng As someone who doesn’t care much for all the fancy features like image previews and stats but is always interested in a new fast picker how does this compare to command-t ( in terms of speed and matching (

Looks very promising! Would love to try it out when it's ready.

seems to not let me close vim after opening it once on MacOS

Can you share the log file in the issue?

I can PROMISE you, I have NOT been looking for a ... *checks notes* file... picker... good lord y'all are hilarious

@BKAngryKing You didn’t look for it because your existing search freaking sucks. fff.nvim would have suggested you one 😏

That’s rly cool! Been looking for a FE for several weeks now. Ditched Nvim coz of that. If u make it public, I’ll definitely give it a try !

vibecoded?

Some parts of the UI are taken from snacks nvim but some are definitely vibe coded lol I don’t have much time to figure out the lua way of building TUIs but I’m eager to learn if it seems useful for community

Can it be added to your new Linux distro @dhh ?

Holy shit, I want this so badly now. Even if it is in rough state

:e myfile.c

fff.el when?

when you port

OH SHIT HOW DO I GET THIS?

Patience I'll get it out sooner than I expected

you can't just show a nerd a fast nvim file picker and say patience 😭

@neogoose_btw bro's a bad nerdtwerk. mfer dangles "typo resistant SIMD optimised fuzzy find" and asks for patience

@neogoose_btw fr

I can see many benefits from this, telescope is indeed struggling sometimes. I can definitely see the functionality with latest modified files, especially in large monorepos. Typically I have to ‘:cd <dir>’ into a specific dir for the telescope to work well. Talking about monorepors, have you tried your thing with a bigger number of files? How is it?

I’m actually building it for working in monorepo. Telescope and snacks generally okay in smaller projects, but in monorepo with a lot of similar files I can’t find anything

Very nice then! Will try it for sure when you publish

Yazi implements all the features you are looking for...

no it is not

missed golden opportunity to name it FFS.

dope 🔥

looks slick!

what theme is this?

More informative preview is actually genius Tweaking telescope was always a pain, so i use fzf.vim which's fast enough for me and support search buy row:col (ripgrep) I'd like to give it a try anyway, but fzf's maturity and flexibility buys over

Yes please

@goosewin this your brother goose?

Excited to give it a try 🙌 Telescope is great, but I always wanted vscode-like file picker experience in nvim. This looks exactly like it 🥹

I'm using `snacks.picker` for now and TBH, i don't have any issue with that but i would love to try/test another picker :) BTW what is the plugin used as sidebar symbols-tree ? is that **outline.nvim** ?

Yes it’s outline nvim (which I also trying to improve btw cause it has a bunch of issues) But for snacks picker it is okay. If you don’t share my pain points you probably don’t need this tool

Just got proposal from yt to watch your interview with Khirill and here you are on X :D

@a2xchip Popularity 😏

😅😅😅 yeah

Woah, that's amazing! I'm really curious to try it, there is a way? I'm really tired of Telescope 😅

Keep up the great work!

This is great. But access time is not something that I consider when searching. I mentally map keywords that work and almost always use same keywords. So, if this access time can change results I expect, I'd look for a way for disabling it. That was the first thing I can think of

The sorting by access and modification time / distance from current file makes ambiguous keyword query result in the correct suggestion. I find it problematic with snacks and telescope because in a monorepo you usually have a ton of files with similar names and there simply no unique keyword that identifies every file.

Can I join a beta testers list?
