🚀 I'm launching r3f-webgpu-perf today! "npm i r3f-webgpu-perf" One thing I missed while working with WebGPU in React Three Fiber was a performance monitor similar to r3f-perf. The existing tool is fantastic, but it doesn’t support the WebGPU renderer yet. So I decided to build one. ✅ Supports both WebGL and WebGPU ✅ Modern and customizable UI ✅ Lightweight and easy to integrate ✅ Built specifically for React Three Fiber My goal is to turn r3f-webgpu-perf into more than just a metrics dashboard. Streamlining the UX in Gemini CLI ✨ We got a lot of feedback on how our UI was way too cluttered with noise and text... so we made changes! 🛠️ Compact tool calls: Tool calls for reading files, folders, searching text, etc are now a single line (no more tool boxes around everything!) 💭 Topics: The agent outputs a one line overview of the rationale and direction it is going. A topic can span several tool calls and makes it easy to see what the agent is working on at a glance and why.

I can finally announce the project I've been working on with Joce ! Fondant is building a new app that brings avatars and vtubing to Web. Multiplayer lobbies for vtuber streamer collabs or just hangouts with friends, as well as character customization tools building up to a full creator. We are using a WebGL and WebGPU techstack, so part of the point is to provide a cross-platform alternative to the current Unity based app ecosystem, and also to build tools that people can use to create or modify characters without going through a DCC (Blender, Maya, etc). For now we're starting with the basics: multiplayer lobbies, VRM support, and some tools like merging accessories into existing VRMs in the quoted post, and transferring Custom Vertex Normals from proxy meshes. My role is stylized shaders and procedural character creation. I've been working on NPR Shaders and tools to help build and customize 3D anime characters in Blender for years. With WebGPU, we can bring it into Web. My hope is to build a full character customization system for the Web with next gen toon shaders, and also a matching set of tools in Blender for serious content creators. But it is early days still, and there's a lot to be done! Here's the latest WIP of the rig for fitting proxy meshes to new faces.

Why do we still buy stadium tickets without ever seeing what the view from the seat actually looks like? ☠️ So I prototyped an idea. A 3D seat view experience for a football stadium built with Fable 5 + Three.js, where you can preview exactly what you'll see from your seat before buying. The entire 3D experience was working after the first prompt, and the whole prototype came together in just five prompts. This is the kind of 3D experience I'd love to see more of, tbh. Feels so good. Right now, buying a ticket gives you almost no sense of what the experience will actually feel like. We're still relying on static seat maps, charts, and boring UI layouts, when interactive 3D experiences could make that decision so much easier. If you think, 3D development has the potential to create genuinely useful experiences. This feels like the direction we should be heading. 3D is the future. I can already imagine this for cinemas, cricket stadiums, Wimbledon, concerts, and so many other venues. I'm planning to take this further. What should I build next?
