The mission of Valar Atomics is to make energy in the universe cheaper and more abundant than ever before. We believe that the best way to make energy cheaper is to chain many small and safe nuclear reactors together on campuses, called Gigasites.

Last November, Valar Atomics became the first startup in history to achieve criticality. A month ago, we became the first startup to make nuclear power, using those first electrons to power an NVIDIA Blackwell. We now have the war chest we need to build the Gigasite.

Valar Atomics values hardware iteration over everything. Since day zero, it’s been my strongest conviction that the winner in the next century of energy would be the team that was able to build fission at the greatest scale; not the one that could show the biggest backlog.

We are now in the privileged position of being the hardware leaders in new SMRs, and as I had hoped, that has come with lots of customer interest. But for us, this means our conviction has only grown. We still do not believe in MOUs or LOIs. We believe in cash and hardware.

As we move from demonstration to making commercially relevant power, we will maintain the same focus and discipline. Rather than LOIs, we will work with a select few who share our beliefs about the power of scale and will put real skin in the game to build the future of energy.

The credit facility might be the most important line here. Nuclear has always been financed as a science project or not at all — a $200M debt tranche against reactors as products is the actual regime change. Deployment speed is now the whole game.
