i should buy another air conditioner

Interesting fact about air conditioning: it’s not even that expensive in terms of energy cost when you compare it to heating in most circumstances, and no one would argue it’s a waste to heat your home.

that’s why this drives me insane. people crank the heat here in winter. every time i go into a store in December it’s so hot. people just get weird about cooling the air.

lol i completely forgot about the American flag propped out of it at the end it really makes the video

really some of my best work, i think

I want this woman to have a better AC unit purely, so she can dumpster europoors even harder. We have the technology to not leave a window cracked open for heat pumps now.

i rent so i can’t install something more permanent but i have since upgraded my window seal

That too, is a common euro issue, tbf anyone under 30 on average is renting in typically not great condition.

Germany has one of the lowest home ownership rates in Europe actually, we are the youngest couple in our building and we are 35.

I am fortunate in my circumstances but I am in the US. I just don't sleep properly.

Swamp Hag, eurocope destroyer

One day, Europe will ditch its 2nd world status and accept ac. That day is not today. A small 700watt unit is only 3 regular sized solar panels, and the compressor is not even on all the time. I'll die on this hill with you.

also when it’s not hot you can just… turn it off!!

I can recommend the Midea PortaSplit. It uses way less energy and isn't as loud. Only downside: It's also way more expensive.

i would like to upgrade but i am also hoping we move back stateside in the near-ish future so these clunkers will do for now.

You know what I do? I make money. 😂😂 you’re one of my favorite bitches and I mean that in the best way.

ty i love being annoying on the internet

It’s really the only way

As an American who lives in America, I will never understand why an "American" would want to live in Europe...

i actually don’t want to live here lol i am currently here for my husband’s job

That's fair. (My late uncle was a USAF colonel who became a contractor after retirement, so I totally get it.)

@Recursion_Agent Obligatory LKY every time this topic comes up.

Good for you

Do they even have ceiling fans?

now that you mention it i don’t think i’ve ever seen one here.

I was waiting for your annual AC post. 🤣 well the responses actually more so than your actual tweet 🤣

people go insane every time lmao

Effing hilarious 🤣

There are only a few weeks where AC is useful. It would be in the way.

so put it away when you don’t need it? that’s what i do.

It's called hoarding.

@potatoslav nigga what, it's a fuckin portable air conditioner lol

@potatoslav Hoarders have their house full of portable things they might need someday.

@CowboyPensive @potatoslav Something you use every year is not something you “might need someday”

@CowboyPensive @potatoslav Do you act this way about winter coats or snow boots?

@CowboyPensive @potatoslav Yes

annual reminder that the Midea PortaSplit is the closest thing to a real A/C most Germans can install and its price nearly triples from feb to august every year.

HELL YEAH PREACH!

I won the battle of the Atlantic with my husband to get a clothes dryer but lost the war for AC because this is how he insists we cool our bitch ass dachgeschoss apartment. YES, that is a wet blanket hung in front of a balcony door NO, it does not work.

How did they respond to this lol all your points make perfece sense

somehow i am still a Stupid Evil American

Setting ours up this weekend 🥳 🇺🇸

hell yeah

Do you have some speech impediment because your American accent sounds a bit off, wtf? Also, to be frank, when it comes to Germany and a few other western EU countries, sometimes when you rent an apt. there is even no faucets, lamps or floorboards and you expect AC units.

I’m from New Jersey!!! this is what we sound like!!!!!!

I’ve been making fun of Europeans for 15 years and now I feel like I just found the holy grail of dunking on eurotards Somehow I’ve never seen this statistic before. How do you even live without air conditioning after knowing it exists?

Doing God's work Swamp. Its cultural. I've been in cars in Germany and they refuse to turn on the AC because they "don't want to feel a draft". Insane.

western european issue (but seriously it's because the units are butt ugly)

It’s annoying, they don’t even understand the concept of air conditioning. The public busses have air conditioning, however, they are still hot af because the passengers keep the damn windows open!

We're all very proud of you.

"Why you all choose to be hot?" Because for 8~9 months in a year we are freezing our asses off, especially here in the Nordic countries, so enjoying little bit of heat for 1~3 months is manageable; it's a trade-off.

You say you’re happy but it doesn’t seem like it

this is just my voice. i just sound like this.

Oh. You have a lovely voice.

Just call it heat control and talk about how dangerous heat is so you had to ban it in your home to avoid future incidents of heat extremism.

What's almost equally annoying is they have not yet invented screen windows, despite their constant love for Frische Luft.

Air conditioning is one of the few remaining modern luxuries that is still worth the money. And people probably love chillin in your place too (no pun intended).

God bless my Frigidaire!

Reading these comments, I don’t remember the responses being this insane the first time you posted it. 😬 Having just been in Paris and London, this reminder is sorely needed. 💨
