Anorexia and transgender identity might seem like two very different things, but both can involve what psychologists call an “overvalued belief.” Why, then, do we challenge that belief in one case and affirm it in the other?

They are two very different things. Literally the only people comparing the two are accounts pushing transphobic bigotry. And here you are.

This is exactly what happened in Mr Molly's family. His sister was anorexic.....and now he's trans. It's a mental illness in that family. I wonder why their own GP didn't pick up on this?

I have recently encountered inpatient treatment facilities for anorexia in which the therapists are telling the anorexic girls that they should be comfortable in their healthy bodies instead. They are telling the trans identified boys with anorexia in the same treatment groups that they should be comfortable in their plump bodies, but uncomfortable with their genitals. The therapeutic establishment is talking out of both sides of their mouth. This is bad for the sexually confused young people and the anorexic. Of course, one has zero confidence in therapists, generally.

I've said this so many times and its true. One believes they are fat and are treated, the other believes they are the opposite sex, and get affirmed in that belief. Its absolutely crazy.

Gender Dysmorphia is a genuine body dysmorphia I suffer from. I also denounce transgender ideology which is a Neo-Marxist ideology and not a psychological condition. Yes, there are similarities between anorexia and transsexualism. Transgender Ideology is a fad, a Social Contagion. 😷 It would be the same as someone claiming to be anorexic snd refusing to eat by choice because it sexually gratified them… as weird as that would be lol 😝 They’re frauds. All of the fake trans online are also self proclaimed to be “Autistic”, the other social contagion not many talk about.

No, anorexia and gender dysphoria are different conditions with different diagnostic criteria. People with anorexia inaccurately perceive their physical body. People with gender dysphoria accurately perceive their physical body, yet know that it is not congruent with their psychological sense of gender identity.

In a way ‘being an anorexic’ becomes an obsessive identity too, it makes you feel brilliant to be the absolute best most ill anorexic you can be.. you don’t necessarily see yourself as fat just not thin enough.. that gripping obsession is the comparison I always see

Anorexia, by defintion, has no end point. No point where the person decides they've lost enough weight. Being trans doesn't require that. Most trans people are satisfied after hormone treatments and SRS.

Please investigate who was behind banning “Conversion Therapy” and ALL names and not just their credentials.

The danger comes when others are pressured to validate the false beliefs, and punished for questioning them, as with religions in pre-liberal societies.
