Another day in Melbourne: A maniac with two knives boarded a train. Thanks to Jacinta Allan for removing PSOs from stations, two brave men had to shield women & children from him. The train stopped at a station that used to have PSOs, passengers waited 20 mins for police, fearing he’d start stabbing. Absolute disgrace. We are living in a jungle. #Melbourne #Victoria

We increased ticketing facilities at more than 100 stations. We are monitoring movement of special trains at division, zone and board control rooms. Our control room at division, zone and board are operational 24×7, even on Diwali Day. All major stations have mini control rooms. Thousands of CCTV cameras have been installed. We have made special arrangements for cleaning platforms during heavy rush. The result is that till now, over 1 crore passengers reached home safely this festival season. We will continue to make our sincere efforts.
