On Sunday, Russian President Putin convened an emergency government meeting to address the ongoing fuel crisis in the country, caused in main part by Ukrainian strike campaign on Russian fuel infrastructure. Putin announced that Russia is introducing a full ban on export of gasoline and aviation kerosene, while a ban on diesel fuel is also being considered. He also noted that despite releasing accumulated fuel to the domestic market, the reserve level remains practically the same as it was last year in the same period.

“It’s a waste of space this, isn’t it. Waste of space this.” Another day, another brittle Nigel Farage interview. The £5m “gift” from Christopher Harborne is a bruise that isn’t going to heal. Reform’s stance on cryptocurrency and lack of transparency around the source of the donations feels like it’s going to unravel. He can’t even answer the simplest of questions from Beth Rigby without snapping. Farage knows the scrutiny he would be under as Prime Minister would be relentless. Based on his reaction here he’s going to self-immolate. Irrespective of his popularity, Nigel Farage quite clearly lacks the temperament and judgement to run the country.

Whatever situation is there in Delhi today, The Modi government & Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is Responsible for it. This interview of Dharmendra Pradhan is a month old, before the protest started. Now if this government had conveyed this information to the people on time. If people had been able to see this interview and this video at that time, then they would not have been brainwashed so quickly. Perhaps this situation would not have arisen. The Modi government & BJP do not know how to convey their message to the people. This is all that is needed Even now, if the Modi government had done this, then at least such a situation would not have arisen in the future.

I voted NO on the stop-gap CR to fund the government that would be dead on arrival in the Senate and White House. This is a government that’s weaponized against its political enemies. A government that puts Ukraine’s border above our own. And a government that isn’t working for OUR people. I’m a successful business owner and I’ve always kept my business running. But in the House, we went home for all of August and most of September. We need to stay in Washington to pass our appropriations bills to fund the government the right way, not a CR the Democrat-controlled Senate would refuse to pass and Joe Biden would refuse to sign.

My final word in the Lords on the government climbdown on wrong-headed under-16s social-media ban: At least Labour was originally less gung-ho than the Tories, saying that it needed to consult first. But now, with a U-turn BEFORE and regardless of the opinions of those consulted, the government says it will ban. This seems to make a mockery of evidence-based policy, or claims that the government is listening to the public. In reply, the minister casually dismissed my concerns. Consultation, she explained, was always about the TYPE of ban. Democracy - but not as we know it!

They've been in 11 weeks and we need to allow them to make the changes.. To turn this oil tanker around.. Following the Prime Minister's comments yesterday evening at the Lord Mayor's banquet, where he said that "it was important to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position for negotiations, so that they can secure a just and lasting peace on their terms", I pressed Government ministers today for urgent clarity on the approach to Ukraine. This language relating to negotiations is new, and if the government are now framing through a lens of negotiation, this would represent a departure from the current approach. We are continuing to see more brutality from Putin, and we need reassurance from the government that the UK will keep doing all we can to support their defence of freedom.

Again, about the ambush in Palmyra Syria today which killed 2 US soldiers and wounded 3: The Syrian Government is trying to evade responsibility and therefore the incentive to reform by pumping out lies in an effort to create false narratives. First the Syrian ministry of Interior denied that the attacker was a member of the Syrian Government - then, in an interview on television the MoI admitted that he was indeed a member of the Syrian Government but that the STG wanted to fire him yesterday, but didn’t because of the weekend. Meanwhile the US Center of counter terrorism declared this attack to be an *insider* attack which highlights and confirms that the attacker was a member of the Syrian Government.

When the Government announced its social media ban for under-16s, it published an indicative list of platforms that included Facebook, Instagram and X. BlueSky was nowhere to be seen. The Government has since rowed back, insisting that it was only an indicative list. We think it is more than a coincidence that these perceived centre-right platforms were included from the outset, while the left-leaning platform was omitted. In Australia, where this Government borrowed the idea for the ban, BlueSky was not on the list. In typical fashion, however, it has since volunteered to be included. Once Ofcom has finalised the regulations, we will have a clearer idea of what qualifies a platform for the ban. In the latest episode of the FSU Podcast, Lord Young argues that the initial decision not to include BlueSky points to something quite alarming: that this is a selective ban. The problem with a selective ban is whether Ofcom can genuinely be trusted to make politically impartial decisions that do not benefit the Government of the day. That concern is particularly pertinent at the moment, given that the Government is pushing through legislation to give 16-year-olds the vote.
