Amit Shah and the RSS ecosystem keep spinning the freedom struggle narrative. Sanjay Singh called it out directly: Name even four RSS men who went to jail raising ‘Vande Mataram’. Just four names. You can’t. RSS has no history in the independence movement. That’s their complex. They keep claiming Sardar Patel. But Sardar Patel’s Tricolour was never hoisted at the RSS headquarters. Three people who did hoist the national flag there had to fight a case done on themselves by RSS as they filed a FIR against them for having hoisted the Tricolour, which meant that in RSS those who support and hoist the Tricolour, national flag can never be true devotees of Bharat Mata. #WATCH | Delhi: On Priyank Kharge’s open letter to RSS, International President, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Alok Kumar says, “…he should cite a law that requires all organisations to register…the question of whether the RSS reports its income to the Income Tax Department is also raised frequently. Guru Dakshina is held once a year within the RSS. It does not accept outside funds for its work…the Income Tax Department, in 1967-68 and 1975-76, issued orders by the assessing officer that the RSS must pay tax on its income…in both cases, the High Court ruled that income from Guru Dakshina is not subject to income tax under mutual trust laws…he wants to tarnish the image of RSS with a light-hearted attack…Congress has been trying to level false accusations against the RSS since the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi in 1948..." December 21, 1992 — my speech in the Rajya Sabha during the discussion on demolition of Babri Masjid where I strongly criticised the BJP-RSS’ nefarious agendas and recounted by grandfather Babasaheb’s fears of social inequality in his last speech in the Constituent Assembly on November 25, 1949. Excerpt from my speech — “The ideology of the RSS is basically what I call Brahmanism. I am not against the Brahmin community…but what I understand by Brahmanism is a negation of sovereignty, equality and brotherhood. What is the basis of Brahmanism? The basis of Brahmanism is Manusmriti. The Manusmriti is in the heart of the RSS. The reason for choosing the 6th December (by the RSS for the demolition of the Babri Masjid)? The country had laid the architect of the Constitution to rest…One one hand, we were paying our homage to the architect of the Constitution and on the other hand, the RSS wanted to make it a day of rejoice! This has been a contradiction and this why they have chosen this date. This is the RSS’ ideology and this what we have to fight. Yesterday in Goa, the old version was sung by Shri Mallikarjun Kharge Ji, and when I was in Kannur on August 15, we all sang the old version at the DCC. We will continue to sing the old version. This makes it very clear that we are a secular party. Now I want to ask the RSS: Why did you kill Mahatma Gandhi? Savarkar’s grandnephew has testified in a Pune court that Godse was an active member of the RSS. BJP and PM Narendra Modi must also answer why a woman who calls herself a fan of Godse, Priti Gandhi, has been given an official post in the BJP IT Cell.
