Imagine not paying $99 a month for FSD! 🤯

This car actually had an active subscription.

FSD doesn't move like that. Nice rage post though.

Literally what in the world even happened

Looks like the driver got startled awake. Likely from a take over immediately alert and grabbed the wheel in a panic.

Def disengaged FSD and lost control, it plays out like this every time they freak out

Looks like they hit the steering wheel with their knee then over corrected to the left thinking they were going to hit the semi truck. Definitely looks like user error

Whoa, the Mansfield bar on that trailer really hooked into the Tesla. Scary

FSD in action—famously veering off even on a straightaway. A vision-only system can work, sure—nothing’s perfect. But when things aren’t perfect, you need a backup layer. And Tesla’s FSD doesn’t have that level of safety redundancy. $14.5B lawsuits!

Was the driver sleepy, got surprised by the truck, steered left hardly and hit the barrier? Another accident preventable by FSD...

What the hell happened? Did it get spooked by its own shadow?

My car did this same thing on FSD, it turned on the blocker and attempted to cut over directly into the trailer of the semi too. I took control before we hit but it would have done exactly the same thing had I not intervened

It panicked or the driver did?

Not sure there's no overlay to show whether or not the car was on autopilot or anything but most likely user error. The car does have an FSD subscription though.

I wish there was more footage prior to the accident. The driver wasn't centered, and made a move toward the transport before overcorrecting to the left. This would indicate to me it wasn't on FSD.

something similar happened to me while on FSD, maybe the marks on the road ? but coincidentally also next to a truck like that, I took over but NOT LIKE THAT.

Don't even attempt to claim this was FSD. It wasn't. Just bad driving by a human.

Could you try plugging the USB into a working Tesla and seeing if you can view the footage that way?

Man. These Tesla’s really need to be investigated. Could’ve killed the poor driver.

Speculation: Autopilot (or FSD?) was activated. The driver thought the car was too close and tried to turn the wheel away from the truck. Since it takes some force to overcome the lane keeping, they oversteered and plowed into the barrier.

The driver disengaged the Full Self-Driving (FSD) system, which caused the brake light to flicker on during the merge. My Hardware 3 (HW3) will experience some unusual behavior around semi-trucks, especially since the trailer is exposed to high-speed winds. This exposure causes the trailer to sway back and forth in its lane, causing the car to slow down and inch away. The driver was clearly distracted and made a hasty decision to correct the situation, which resulted in the incident we witnessed. While the driver is responsible for 70% of the incident, it’s important to note that FSD should have been more cautious and prevented this from happening. I personally avoided a similar situation when I was traveling over 1,200 miles to South Carolina.

These cameras now show in the UI that FSD was on. Soooo it was cropped out. Soo I don't buy it.

If you’re going to drive drunk you should subscribe to FSD , lesson learned.

@BradMunchen Prove what? Idk if it was on FSD. Its a 2025 Model 3 so yes it was in the past 5 years for sure.
