Authorities in Ceuta are calling for a national emergency, after reports that 1,500 migrants entered the Spanish territory by sea in the last few days. Footage appears to show hundreds of migrants swimming across the border from Morocco into the tiny Spanish enclave in North Africa. The territory’s President, Juan Jesus Vivas, today called for “a situation of total humanitarian and social emergency” and said more than 200 people-a-day were entering Ceuta. In a statement, Spain’s central government in Madrid said that several ministries were now "acting in coordination to respond with the utmost speed and efficiency to the situation in Ceuta". Ceuta and Melilla, another Spanish autonomous city, are the EU’s only land borders with North Africa. Everyone is rightfully outraged over migrants in Ceuta beating a baby dolphin to death, but European children are raped and killed by migrants on a daily basis and we barely see this level of fury. It took a dolphin calf. That says something about the way our society views the value of human children. Take the Lindsay Clancy case. She strangled her three children to death and the left and feminists all rushed to her defense. If she had strangled three dolphin calves instead, none of them would have defended her. There’s something deeply wrong here.
