I get my burger meat from the Amish. It’s the best beef I’ve ever eaten. Every time I eat a burger out I wonder “what is in the beef?” It’s chewy and taste beefy but the texture isn’t the same as what I buy.

The cattle come from ranches like this one where I live.

They use multiple sources for their patties, which are frozen (unlike Wendy's, which uses fresh meat). Here's an interesting article about the changes McDonald's has implemented in their beef procurement process.

@emma6USA There are around 28 million beef cows in the US. One cow can yield approximately 1,000 burgers. McDonald’s apparently buys about 8% of that each year. Yowza.

900,000 cattle killed daily worldwide; average carcass about 640 pounds of meat & fat, or about 2600 "quarterpound" burgers. Or about 2.3 billion burgers daily. So McDonald's needs only about .3% of the daily slaughter to produce 7 million burgers. Pretty impressive supply chain nontheless.

@Jess3CAgrl4Life Also think McDonald’s has a secret meat supply chain.

Joe Rogan does not understand how corporate investment works. You can literally sell 1 billion or 1 trillion burgers in a day as long as the contract goes to the timeline.. Joe Rogan is suggesting that they actually fed people that many burgers in one day, which is not the case. It was a simple investment. I’m sure many people will agree with this, but nobody will call him out on it.

@IfindRetards Average amount of ground beef from a cow? 220lbs Times 1/4 lbs patties 880 burgers per cow. 6.5M / 880 = 73,000 cows per day. It's not a mystery, it's math.
