In added time to added time, they led 3-2 but needed another goal or their Champions League campaign would be over. A free-kick provided them with one last chance and goalkeeper Trubin was sent forward. He then made it possible with the Hail Mary last second goal. This sends team, Benfica, into the Champions League playoffs and denying Real Madrid a direct spot in the round of 16.

Drove on the Ganga Expressway today from Prayagraj to Noida and something bothered me. The road is smooth, wide and genuinely impressive. But in several stretches, there are no guardrails on the right side. A guard rail can protect vehicles from jumping into another lane in the event of tyre bursts, sleepy drivers, sudden swerves and human mistakes. It won’t take much money and can save lives.

Two passenger planes full of people 😳 The FAA says they were at a safe distance and it was just the camera angle, but watching that emphasizes the importance of good air traffic control! The EU passed a regulation that literally bars American companies from providing air traffic control services in Europe, but we’re over here possibly handing our ATC modernization contracts to European firms? In what world does that make sense? Time to put America first again!

Strait of Hormuz the last 24 hours: fighting time. Well, it looks like the Strait is closed again. IRGC fired at two ships, one of them is sinking, so there's that. The US tried to get another group of tankers in, and two were hit. The two VLCCs made it in. Incredible that these tanker owners are fearless. As the escalation continues, tankers will likely transit without AIS on, but they ultimately turn it back on after they pass, so we will see them. Only time will tell how this conflict ends, but for now, the inbound VLCCs are completely insufficient to reduce the production shut-in. I have included the video from MarineTraffic and the tanker list below.

The Taino, who occupied the Caribbean islands of Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and the Northern Lesser Antilles were the first Americans to defend themselves against Christopher Columbus and other Spanish invaders. Hatuey was a Taino chief from the island of Hispaniola (now Haiti 🇭🇹) when 30 Spanish ships arrived on the shores of Hispaniola, bringing a large population of Spanish colonizers and enslaved Africans. Many of the enslaved Africans began escaping from the Spanish quarters fleeing into the interior of the island and connecting with the Taino. The Taino were soon forced to defend themselves from the death and destruction the Spaniards brought with them. For over a decade, Hatuey led the Taino people along with the Africans into combat against the Spanish to defend their freedom and did so successfully. Around 1511, Hatuey and 400 of his soldiers traveled to Cuba 🇨🇺 on a mission to mobilize the inhabitants of Cuba against the Spanish colonizers. He warned the Cuban leaders about the vile nature of the Spanish and urged them to unite and fight to save their land and their gold and their freedom. The Spaniards arrived with superior weaponry and outnumbered the Taino, but they didnt have the skill and courage of the Taino. Using guerrilla warfare, the Taino were able to defeat the Spaniards in Cuba for almost a year. Not all Taino agreed with Hatuey, and the colonizers were able to overtake and capture Hatuey and his men. Before his execution in 1512, as his rites of faith were being read, Hatuey, who knew nothing of heaven or hell, resisted converting to Christianity and chose instead to go to a burning hell than share heaven with the Spaniards. The spirit of Cacique Hatuey lives.

🚨 Phoenix just made history 🚨 Yesterday, in an 8-1 vote, the PHX City Council: ✔️ Approved the largest individual tax increase in the city's history. ✔️ Approved a tax increase for the first time in the city's history WITHOUT voter approval. The city council doesn't have to bring a tax increase to the voters but historically any time taxes were raised the city council chose to bring it to the voters. This time around the city council chose to break the mold and take matters into their own hands. And then they laughed about it. How it was the first time they had a simultaneous seconding of a motion from multiple council members because they were all just so eager to pass it. Disgusting! The only real Republican on the council was the only no vote. When Take Back Phoenix returns the majority to Republicans in 2026 we will repeal this tax increase and we will make sure our budget is properly balanced. I like him, but I have to disagree with The Buddy CSM. I think the biggest “high” from the military that I’ll never be able to chase down again is that feeling when you know there is a secondary IED, and then you find it. Specifically when you know American troops have to operate in the area. Firefights were intense, but not a feeling I wish to chase. >Calling up “hey, there’s another one here, hold what you got” >the infantry guys in security posture. >Hearing the radio call that the airspace has been restricted and you’re good to pull the shot. >the sound of rocks and rouge frag zipping by during the detonation >Hunkering down against the side of the vehicle to stay safe >radioing up that actions are complete and you’re good to continue mission

She doesn't understand what she is getting into. If she loses this time, she goes. If she somehow manages to win this time too, then god knows what happened to common people. And then the Center will be imposing President’s rule in the state and she will become powerless. Why President's rule then, and not till now? Because till now the Judiciary was playing games (most people do not remember how Judiciary had behaved and trashed the demand for the same in Uttarakhand some time back). So, the Center chose to let the judiciary taste its own medicine when the judicial team appointed by them was kidnapped by this group of peace-loving hooligans in Malda recently. It made the current CJI have a sleepless night and he took instant suomoto action because their people were involved. So, if the same drama happens against the common people in future, and the Center imposes the President's Rule, then the judiciary won't have any excuse to say no. And then, we should see some really good clean up happening. But let's pray that Didi goes out of power democratically so that she doesn't get another chance to play victim.
