Since we’re on the topic of drugs, about 7 yrs ago I wanted to try to make my own Cannabis infused brownies. Found a recipe online, got me a Mortar/Pestle, crushed it up, heated it in oven, made some cannabutter and then the brownies. Nightmare of all nightmares. When the brownies were done, I ate one. Waited an hour. Nothing. Decided to eat another. Waited. Nothing. Thought “Maybe I did something wrong and destroyed the effect”. Ordered some food. Decided to pour the cannabutter all over my mashed potatoes. I should have paid more attention to how I was feeling, because I started to get the munchies, but still didn’t “feel” the Cannabis. Got some ice cream and dumped it all over 1/2 the tray of brownies. Proceeded to eat the entire thing. Ended up eating about 3/4 of the giant tray of brownies. And then it hit me. Like a freight train that all of a sudden turned its light on in the middle of the tunnel that I’m walking in. I’ve never been a weed person. Did a little in highschool. Once in college and then this time. If I’ve ever experienced pure hell on earth this was it. Room started spinning furiously, I couldn’t move, I couldn’t stand up. Crawled to bed and the bed started spinning, had to crawl to the toilet to pee while on my knees and holding on to the wall and sink for dear life. It was so bad I started googling on my phone “Can you OD from marijuana?”. Once I finally fell asleep and the spinning stopped, I ended up sleeping for 24 straight hours. One of the worst experiences of my life and I never looked at this scene from “Old School” the same again.

PART 2 ➡️ Last week, BBC Three Counties devoted an hour-long segment to the new EHRC Code on single-sex spaces. It featured three men talking for around 30 minutes - but no female guest to explain why women's single-sex spaces matter. We've since learned that a suitable organisation was approached for an interview, but was then told it was not needed. Last week's post (link below) looked at the omission of female voices. But the framing of the discussion is notable too - starting with the title: 'is it right to tell transgender people which toilet to use?' The presenter Jonathan Vernon-Smith followed up with: "My question to you today is: is that right, or does that seem unnecessarily unkind and mean?” But the new EHRC Code isn't an optional act of kindness. It sets out how organisations are expected to comply with equality law following the Supreme Court's ruling that "sex" in the Equality Act means biological sex Vernon-Smith introduced his first guest, barrister Robin Moira White, apologising in advance in case he used language that might be considered 'offensive'. Later, he repeated a similar message to a caller. But it's not "offensive" to state the truth. Saying that a man is a man is factually correct. White also made a number of significant claims that went largely unchallenged. Including: - Excluding a trans-identifying male from female toilets would "probably" amount to discrimination - Members of the public could become "toilet police" - There are "around 40 times" as many 'butch lesbians' as trans people - The changes could cost "several billion" pounds - The Supreme Court ruling is likely to be reversed within two or three years Robin Moira White has a distinctly male voice, yet female pronouns were used throughout the interview. Later, listeners were introduced to "Michelle" from Watford as a woman, only to hear another distinctly male voice. That creates the kind of dissonance that leaves listeners questioning whether they heard correctly. Good journalism should help audiences understand what they're hearing, not leave them wondering whether they've misunderstood it. It’s isn't about helping audiences arrive at a preferred conclusion. It's about helping them understand the facts clearly enough to reach their own.

The End of an Era: Coastal Governors’ Desperate Scramble to Save Their Jobs as the Tide Turns Things in the Coast are heating up. Ali Hassan Joho, who spent ten years as Mombasa Governor twerking to Ali Kiba’s bogus music and banging Instagram models left, right, and center; degenerate hoodlum Amason Kingi, who didn’t build even a single toilet during his entire decade as Kilifi Governor; and Salim Mvurya, who failed to lay even an inch of tarmac as Kwale Governor, have all rushed to join the TuTam brigade in a pathetic attempt to save their positions. These characters openly supported British-backed war criminal and mass murderer William Ruto’s brutal demolitions of homes in Mombasa and a public park in Watamu to make way for his bogus affordable housing units. They spent their entire political careers promoting the divisive “Pwani si Kenya” agenda, in collusion with the National Intelligence Service (NIS) - a tool deliberately crafted to drive a wedge between “watoka bara” and indigenous coastal communities, all to deflect attention from their industrial-scale looting and monumental failure. Ironically, the very Kikuyu community they have spent years maligning to coastal locals has provided the spark and the blueprint for liberation. The outcome of the Ol Kalou by-election has shown what vigilant, informed voters can achieve. That lesson is spreading fast. The end of an era is nigh. The rise of the Kenyan Coast as a dominant economic player - free from the emasculation of British colonial-backed demagogues like Hassan Ali Joho, EGH. , Rt. Hon. Amason Jeffah Kingi, EGH. , H.E Salim_Mvurya, EGH. , and Gideon M. Mung'aro, OGW - is on the horizon. The people of the Coast have watched these so-called leaders for far too long. Ten years of empty promises, cultural degradation, divisive politics, and zero development have produced nothing but poverty and resentment. Now, as the ground shifts beneath them, these failed governors are desperately realigning themselves, hoping to ride the next wave of patronage. But the coastal people are awakening. The old tricks of tribal mobilization and anti-upcountry rhetoric are losing their power. The real fight is no longer against fellow Kenyans, but against the failed leadership that has kept the region underdeveloped while enriching themselves. Ol Kalou taught the entire country a valuable lesson in people power. That same spirit is now reaching the Coast. The era of these parasitic, underperforming politicians, even scammers like Mohammed Ali, CBS, HSC is coming to a shameful end. The people are ready for genuine leadership and real development - not more performative politics and empty slogans. The wind of change is blowing. And this time, it is blowing against the old guard who have held the Coast hostage for far too long.

Stop Alto! Why rural residents think the latest Liberal mega-rail project is just another land grab Locals packed into the Alto Open House last night in Madoc, Ontario, desperate for answers about the Liberal government's proposed high-speed electric train. This mega-project is being hailed as nation-building, but many are wondering: at what expense? The public-private partnership will span nearly 1,000 kilometres from Toronto to Quebec City at speeds of roughly 300 km/h, with seven mandated stops along the way. But to locals, it's a looming disaster that could shatter communities, farms, lives and livelihoods. “I can't go to sleep at night trying to square this whole thing up,” shared one perplexed resident. The words come as the project is being dubbed one of the largest mass expropriations in modern history, with the consortium behind it promising high-speed connectivity and convenience. But farmers and homeowners are terrified. "It's going to be a massive fence that will just culturally affect everything – societally and economically," one resident explained, leaving the roughly 60-meter corridor severing ties between neighbours, blocking crossings, and further isolating small hamlets. One farmer expressed concern about the train cutting across fields where his cows graze. With a multi-kilometre buffer zone for potential expropriations, entire swaths of privately owned land are left in limbo for this $90 billion project that many say will never leave the station. Though no expropriation offers have been made yet, the uncertainty for many is crippling. "We can't do anything with it," said one landowner, noting properties and homes needing upgrades could sit idle for four years or more. "Would you buy a house in that area right now?" another asked. Multiple rural road concessions could be cut off from their access to hospitals, fire station(s), and municipal services such as garbage collection, effectively turning otherwise short drives into long detours. Environmental concerns loom large, too. "It's going to chop up way too much farmland," one warned, fearing reduced output in a country already struggling with supply issues. Attendees increasingly described the open house as little more than a public relations exercise. Slideshows looped on screens while Alto representatives repeated familiar talking points. When pressed for specifics, many admitted they simply “didn’t know,” at kiosks staffed by personnel limited to scripted responses. For many residents of Madoc who will be most affected by this project, the line itself will remain out of reach to them. Instead, they will have to drive roughly 85 kilometres to Peterborough just to catch a train to Ottawa. Rumblings are that ticket costs will near $300, leaving the trip unaffordable amid Canada’s soaring cost of living crisis. Many attendees urged the government to refocus priorities on the cost of groceries, gas, and address homelessness. "We have people living on the streets," one resident fumed. Fix housing, healthcare, schools, roads — don’t tear down homes for a train few will use. One describes the situation as a financial disaster, a cookie jar for insiders, potentially a land grab like Pickering Airport, which was never built, but took private land and packed the pockets of multinational corporations. Adding another layer of uncertainty is Bill C-15, the Budget 2025 Implementation Act, which amends the Federal Expropriation Act to streamline and expedite the mass expropriation process, specifically for high-speed rail projects like Alto. It eliminates the requirement for the Crown to attempt negotiated purchases, removes public hearings on objections in favour of limited written submissions, simplifies notice procedures, and narrows landowner procedural rights to accelerate land acquisition. Yet locals aren't backing down. A town hall is being hosted at Sharbot Lake's Oso Hall tomorrow at 10 a.m., featuring MP Scott Reid and others. REPORT by Tamara Ugolini 🇨🇦:
