Those empty lots aren't laziness, they're homeowners stuck waiting on mandatory geotech reports, soil tests, septic redesigns, and Coastal Commission appeals that even Newsom's waivers can't fully bypass in Malibu. Stop whining about the rules everyone knows come with living here

The state should declare eminent domain and turn it into a public beach.

After Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans looked like this for years--still does in many parts. In nearby Mississippi, the reconstruction was completed years ago and it's like the hurricane never happened. Blue City Gov lethargy VS Red State work ethic.

I just got back to LA after a year away and drove up the coast. It was heartbreaking. Most will not return due to the challenges with creating new pilings etc.
