ANOTHER plane has crashed - this time in in Boca Raton, Florida. The plane was a Cessna 310R with a passenger capacity of 4-6 people - it was seen circling the airport possibly burning fuel before the crash.

Older twin engine. This one is normally aspirated (not turbo charged). I’ve seen pilots with adequate fuel, mismanage fuel selectors and stop an engine, then fumble the response. Seen pilots lose an engine to mechanical failure and mismanage caging the failed engine and proper engine out procedures. Seen some heater issues. Great plane. Seen a lot of 310s flown by older pilots so need to see who was flying. Remember there are over 100 accidents in the majority of general Aviation every year in the US. Overall, accidents are down, but it’s still a high volume every month. In general aviation you have people that don’t maintain their equipment, sometimes don’t fly as frequently so they can get rusty on their skills, you’ve got amateur build aircraft, you got people flying impaired, you have non-instrument rated pilots that fly into bad weather, etc etc. It’s a mixed bag with a higher rate of accidents and incidents.

Definitely not burning fuel. That is NOT a traffic pattern, that is a plane stuck in a left hand turn due to either rudder or aileron failure.

That Radar looks terrorizing. They had time to make peace it looks like. The turns keep getting tighter and tighter. Control issue? Unless they lost an engine and combined with something else? We will find out in like a year when they publish.
