Another pointless weekend project - a playable version of the old 3DMaze screensaver from Windows 9x. I reverse-engineered the original screensaver binary and added user-input functionality for the controls (and fixed some other minor issues!)

This is incredible, like waking up in a lucid childhood dream. And I love that it’s the real binary, not a reimplementation from scratch. Great job!

🤠 We're a small indie team making a Space Western game that mix together cRPGs like the original Fallout and top-down shooters like Ruiner. Featuring real-time combat, organic roleplay, and a deep narrative with different endings 🚀 👉 Wishlist on Steam

This man is bored way too many times that he is dropping new cool projects every other week lmao. Great work Matthew this is really cool :D 🔥

I remember this screensaver so vividly; I used to pretend like I was controlling the movement when I was a kid

The source code for 3d maze was distributed as a part of the OpenGL samples a long time ago.

@vxunderground Never knew it was not playable. My 4 year old ass must have thought I was playing it lol

When do we get ray tracing? ;)

Omg so cool!

I replaced the textures with Doom textures. Good times.

@nas_bench 😍🧱

great job: a childhood dream of mine realized

The original inflation version I wanted to do was based on the old "Double D Gum" skit from the 90s. It looked kinda weird and you'd have to have seen the original to understand it. So I added a bubble and used the other version as the main inflation version.
