In December, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said that the SEC deserved 7 bids to the College Football Playoff and that 5 wasn’t enough. He said that Vanderbilt and Texas should also have been in the Playoff. Despite getting 5 bids, the SEC did not reach the national championship game for a third season in a row. In bowl season as a whole, the SEC finished 4-10, the worst of any conference. Two of those wins and two of those losses were to other SEC teams, so in non-conference postseason play the SEC went 2-8. With Miami’s victory over Ole Miss last night, the SEC finished 6-8 against the ACC, the second time in the last three years they’ve had a losing record to the ACC. It seems the era of blind special treatment and benefit of the doubt for the SEC has come to an end. We’ll have to wait until August to see if there’s 10 SEC teams in the preseason poll again to get the narrative rebooted.

We are saddened to announce that Uga X, fondly known as Que, died peacefully in his sleep earlier this morning. Born May 27, 2013, he formally began his tenure in a collaring ceremony at the Georgia-Georgia Southern football game on Nov. 21, 2015. Que retired following the 2022 season after becoming the most decorated of all the Bulldog mascots. He compiled a football record of 91-18, presided over two SEC titles, the 2021 and 2022 College Football Playoff national championships, and seven New Year’s Six bowl appearances. He will always be remembered as a Damn Good Dawg. #DGD

Today marks the Canadian Football League's 112th #GreyCup In 1967, the Minnesota #Vikings' retooled their fledgling franchise with two former CFL champions — head coach Bud Grant and quarterback Joe Kapp. Grant had coached the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to four Grey Cup titles in 1958, '59, '61, and '62. Exhibit A proving college football has been made far worse by the 12 team playoff… The year is 2013. Alabama and Auburn have won the last 4 national titles. Alabama is going for 3 in a row, but they 100% need to beat their rival away from home in the Iron Bowl. What results is the sports’ most memorable/exciting moment of the 21st Century. Alabama was eliminated and their reign ended. Auburn made it to the national title game. Today, both teams would know they were in the playoffs regardless of the outcome, and this iconic moment becomes more comedic than significant. ESPN has taken so much from us in their money grab, and we have gotten very little in return. 😡🤮🥲

I was one of only 16 Members to vote AGAINST the Allies Act of 2021, which admitted 76,000+ Afghan nationals with weakened vetting. This included the terrorist who shot two National Guard members, killing Sarah Beckstrom in DC. My question to Director Kent about identifying and removing dangerous individuals went unanswered due to the limited 5 minutes, and I know he would’ve given us great information on this. Ugh! We must put American safety first!!
