In December, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said that the SEC deserved 7 bids to the College Football Playoff and that 5 wasn’t enough. He said that Vanderbilt and Texas should also have been in the Playoff. Despite getting 5 bids, the SEC did not reach the national championship game for a third season in a row. In bowl season as a whole, the SEC finished 4-10, the worst of any conference. Two of those wins and two of those losses were to other SEC teams, so in non-conference postseason play the SEC went 2-8. With Miami’s victory over Ole Miss last night, the SEC finished 6-8 against the ACC, the second time in the last three years they’ve had a losing record to the ACC. It seems the era of blind special treatment and benefit of the doubt for the SEC has come to an end. We’ll have to wait until August to see if there’s 10 SEC teams in the preseason poll again to get the narrative rebooted.

We are saddened to announce that Uga X, fondly known as Que, died peacefully in his sleep earlier this morning. Born May 27, 2013, he formally began his tenure in a collaring ceremony at the Georgia-Georgia Southern football game on Nov. 21, 2015. Que retired following the 2022 season after becoming the most decorated of all the Bulldog mascots. He compiled a football record of 91-18, presided over two SEC titles, the 2021 and 2022 College Football Playoff national championships, and seven New Year’s Six bowl appearances. He will always be remembered as a Damn Good Dawg. #DGD

Today marks the Canadian Football League's 112th #GreyCup In 1967, the Minnesota #Vikings' retooled their fledgling franchise with two former CFL champions — head coach Bud Grant and quarterback Joe Kapp. Grant had coached the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to four Grey Cup titles in 1958, '59, '61, and '62. Kapp had led the BC Lions to their first Grey Cup victory in 1964. The duo would help guide the Vikings to their first-ever postseason appearance in 1968, followed by the 1969 NFL title and the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance in January of 1970. #SKOL

Alabama is going for 3 in a row, but they 100% need to beat their rival away from home in the Iron Bowl. What results is the sports’ most memorable/exciting moment of the 21st Century. Alabama was eliminated and their reign ended. Auburn made it to the national title game. Today, both teams would know they were in the playoffs regardless of the outcome, and this iconic moment becomes more comedic than significant. ESPN has taken so much from us in their money grab, and we have gotten very little in return. 😡🤮🥲

Quarterback AJ McCarron completed 15 of 21 passes for 216 yards and four touchdowns, running back Eddie Lacy rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns and receiver Amari Cooper caught five passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns in the offensive onslaught. Robert Lester had five tackles and an interception to lead an Alabama defense that forced three fumbles, intercepted two passes and had two sacks. Auburn finished with just 163 yards of total offense (92 rushing, 71 passing) and seven first downs. Prior to the 49-point romp in Tuscaloosa, the largest margin of victory by the Crimson Tide over its in-state nemesis occurred on Dec. 4, 1948 in a 55-0 thrashing in Birmingham.

National Medical Commission MBBS seat permission given by NMC in past two years is mockery of the health care system of india. We are competing not with Uk/ USA but our aim has become that our clg should be like russia/ ukraine so that ppl should not go there. All the business men are opening colleges and the word education is loosing its meaning. Dark chapter of medical days are being witnessed by us. Worst part many players of our team the so called big doctors are just supporting this for name fame and money. The GCAI (Maphite) cult group began its convention in Abuja on Thursday, December 11, and it will end today, Saturday, December 13, which is the main event day. The first two days were used for accreditation, charity visits, football matches, and more. Today is for the main events (lecture and election). Naija Confra urges GCAI to take realistic steps that will bring real change to the cult violence being experienced in Nigeria. While it is true that Maphites have largely behaved themselves and remained peaceful, the group must begin to lead the way toward reducing cult violence nationwide. Naija Confra will continue to monitor the situation and, as promised, we will release the name and face of the GCAI national leader today.
