A Frontier plane fatally struck a pedestrian in Denver as it was taking off for Los Angeles Friday night, according to the airline and Denver International Airport. The Airbus A321 was taking off from Denver and departing for Los Angeles when the person crossed the runway around 11:19 p.m., according to statements issued by Frontier Airlines and the Denver airport. The airport said that the person was killed in the collision. The person, who has not been identified, jumped the airport's perimeter fence and was hit two minutes later while crossing the runway, the airport said. According to Frontier, smoke was reported in the cabin after the collision. The pilot reported an engine fire and canceled takeoff. Passengers were evacuated using slides, then bussed back to the terminal.

New year but same murderous Kenya police. Last night in Utange, Mombasa, around 1am just after ushering in the new year, 14 year old Dennis Ringa was shot and killed by police. According to eye witnesses, Dennis was among others who were playing with fireworks when police showed up and started chasing them away. The police proceeded to open fire and killed Dennis. Absolutely needless loss of a very young life who was actually awaiting for his grade 6 KPSEA results.

Speer and Larimer: Cherry Creek Trail Around 6pm this evening, a man was found murdered near the Cherry Creek Trail. Witnesses report his skull was bashed in with a rock. It appears to be a homeless on homeless incident. A suspect has been arrested according to Denver Police Dept.. His booking information is not on yet. I’ll share an update tomorrow once it’s posted.

Later the evening at 22:59pm shots were fired in Tierkloof Street.
