Drake London #falcons This is the last play he was in for just before OT and presumably when he injured his knee. His left tibia hits the ground while the knee is in about 105-110 degrees of flexion. Really hoping it’s just a bruise but it could be a left PCL sprain.

Went back and looked at the Toppin injury and it does appear (hard to tell with confidence) that Diop's knee makes contact with the side of Toppin's right knee area. Best case scenario is that it's just a contusion.

James Tedesco will be unavailable for the Kangaroos tour of England in part because he will undergo a stem cell procedure on his knee (6-8 weeks recovery) At least the 4th time of his career Tedesco has had stem cell treatment in his knee - reported degenerative changes in his cartilage & an extensive history of injury in his left knee (ACL reconstruction, patella fracture, MCL sprain) Evidence for stem cell injections remains limited - but they’re used in an attempt to reduce inflammation & potentially slow cartilage degeneration.

Horrible news with scans confirming Cameron McInnes suffered an ACL rupture in Round 24. Facing surgery & 9 months recovery - is the 2nd ACL reconstruction of McInnes’ career. Likely to have a delayed start to season 2026 which kicks off in 7 months time. At least the 13th ACL rupture in the NRL for 2025 so far.

Here’s a back angle of the same play. This is a clean play IMO. I see some mild contact here, but no tackle “from behind” is performed which has been alluded to by some. Jakob is not a dirty player and has never proven to be. Kuithe plants with his left leg at the top of the route and you see a slight buckling inward of the left knee (valgus force which is typical in ACL tears.) This is normal contact with a TE/DB at the top of a route. Jakob disengages with his body after the initial contact. It appears to be a left knee injury. Possibly an ACL tear with some collateral damage based off the mechanism. Kuithe begins to hobble after the plant and eventually falls to the turf. Kuithe, in 2022 suffered an ACL injury and meniscus tear to his right knee. Data shows that once you’ve had an ACL Injury, there is a higher risk of injuring your opposite knee than your reconstructed knee. Furthermore, there is increasing data supporting the elevated risk of ACL injuries correlated to turf as well as style and type of cleats. My heart goes out to Kuithe.

But, at 2016 Rio Olympics, she criticized 🇨🇳Li Xuerui for using a "feigned injury" as a tactic to affect her performance after Li was severely injured in the semi-final. Although she apologized after realizing the seriousness of Li’s injury afterward, the Internet never forgets, especially since today Marin suffered the same injury, at the same semi-final. Today, when the retired Li Xuerui learned of Marin's injury, she broke into tears on live TV. I’m not inciting hatred here. We should have more love and friendship at the Olympics, not hatred and attack.

Deep in extreme drought, #Florida needs a good soaking. Good news: there’s strong model support for a tropical connnection setting up across Florida in about 8-12 days! This should deliver some widespread significant rain to the state and there’s even the outside chance of weak tropical development nearby, as #hurricane season begins. Although I’d say the chance is remote. Still the potential for a good soaking #rain is high.

Jaime Chapman will go for scans after suffering an ankle injury - nasty mechanism with boot caught underneath causing significant rotation at the ankle. Video brings concern for syndesmosis injury + possible fracture - have seen a few of these in the NRLW in recent weeks. Hopefully not season ending for Chapman.
