Sounds like Ballard & Steichen knew AR was about to be cleared and didn’t want him starting. The “we have to get him physically ready” line doesn’t really hold water when you just trotted a 44 year old out there in 4 days after not having started a game in 5 years.

Shane wanted AR! He advocated for him to be drafted to Indy now he doesn’t want to touch! IMO he isn’t a good head coach, he’s average at best. Coaching matters even at the pro level and he’s a great offensive mind but his football IQ goes out the window in crucial moments

What I like about keeping Rivers as QB1, is that we could ease AR in. Sub him in maybe for deep throws and things Rivers can no longer do. It sets up Rivers as the veteran game manager and AR an apprentice with controlled duties for now
