Anthropic might delay its planned IPO until November, according to the Wall Street Journal. What does this say about the future of AI safety?

The delay is a pricing move, not a safety sermon. Banks want the Q3 print on the roadshow deck before they ask for a $2T check. End-25 run rate: $9B July run rate: $65B ████████ Now: $100B+ █████████████ One extra month of that slope does more for the book than another essay on pacing. If safety actually set the calendar, the S-1 would already be public with the caveats baked in. Would you underwrite this on last quarter’s numbers or wait for the next print?

What does an IPO delay say about AI safety? Nothing lol. Says the bankers want a better window. One of these things has nothing to do with the other.

Great update as always. This cuts through the AI noise. You and @MattSevenich are my go to finance accounts.

It's a month. It says nothing

One post taught more than most threads. You and @Kendallde_ are setting the standard for financial education.

Delaying the IPO to November gives them more time to clean up the narrative around AI safety before going public. Curious if @JavierMolinaSTK thinks this changes the risk profile for AI names in the near term.
