It brings together a local project library, design-system setup, Codex chat, and a live web preview with a point-and-click inspector. Set up your design system however you like. The lack of "feature design" is why so many products over time feel hollow or messy. This isn't visual design. This isn't architectural design. I thought that a short video lecture of what feature design is and a real case study of applying it in Ghostty would be helpful. Feature design is the planning step behind how you're going to solve one or more user problems with a product feature: what that feature looks like, how it feels, and not just how its going to tactically solve these specific problems, but how that solution is going to interface with the edges of other features that currently exist or are planned to exist in the future.

After testing every AI toolchain for a year, this is the only workflow I'm endorsing: Figma → Claude Code (Sonnet 4.5) Here's how I'm building Lorelight: 1. Design the happy path in Figma 2. Feed it to Claude Code via Figma MCP 3. Get a strong foundation in 15 minutes 4. Spend the next 50+ hours iterating (still design work) The design/dev loop that used to be isolated is finally closing. I even built a complete design system in within minutes. Custom components, living documentation, accessibility rules all from the Figma designs. If you're measuring the effectiveness of these tools by whether they can "one-shot" a design, you're consuming too many AI hype commercials. Log off. Then go actually build something with your hands. With AI. With your taste. Stop trying to "one-shot" good shit. And go make stuff with the new tools. For designers who want to ship real products, this is the stack that's getting it done.

In March 2025, Dario Amodei said that “In 12 months, AI [may be] writing essentially all of the code.” 9 months later, Anthropic released Claude Codework (the team gave plans and design, but Claude generated all the code in 10 days). From here, Amodei says the programmer’s role is to set specifications for the AI: ▫️What are the conditions of what you’re doing? ▫️What is the overall app you’re trying to make? ▫️What’s the overall design decision? How do we collaborate with other code that’s been written? ▫️How do we have some common sense on whether [this] is a secure design or an insecure design? But he ultimately believes Claude will automate all of that too.

Last week, Anthropic dropped the coolest "AI isn't just chat" product. Claude Design lets you describe what you want to Claude and it returns prototypes, slides, and one-pagers by just chatting. You can then export to Canva, PDF, PPT, or hand off to Claude Code. You can give your entire design system and codebase to apply automatically to your project, and can share and collaborate with your team. The direct connect to GitHub will probably be my most used feature. Feels directly like a competitor to Figma or just a way to further boost collaboration with Claude. I built a preview of an app that allows CSGO players to meet and squad up with other players, marketplace for in-game loadouts, and pay high-ranking players to mentor them. (CSGO is a game released in 2012 and still consistently one of the highest watched games on Twitch, extremely popular in esports, highly competitive, and an all-around classic game - I know this because a gen zer talked to me about it for 2 straight hours.) I'll keep sharing more examples here.

The reason is that as you hit new levels of scale, you encounter new problems. You are simply going to run out of compute, electricity, data centers, and infrastructure. There are limits to the physical world you are going to hit. And there is already evidence that Anthropic is hitting some of those limits."
