The police announcement comes hours after several users on X reported that Rupnow was the sh**ter. Rupnow, who went by the name "Samantha," passed away on the way to the hospital after turning the gun on herself at the school. Madison, Wisconsin Police Chief Shon Barne confirmed that a second-grade student was initially the one to call 911 as the incident unfolded. In addition to Rupnow, one student, and one teacher were k*lled and six others were injured. Barne also confirmed that he was aware of an alleged manifesto floating around social media but couldn't confirm its accuracy yet.
