it has always been hard for me to really think about the Holocaust I can’t finish books or films devoted to it. I walked out of Schindler’s List I think of my family, and everything Nazis did to them. I relive their torment, their final agonizing moments. my mom is the same way. her mother barely survived, her grandmother was executed, along with most of the rest of her family when I think of what they went through, a fate so many others shared, a particular pain grips my chest and throat, my breath becomes ragged, and sob uncontrollably the same is true when I think of the Holocaust that Zionists have visited upon Palestinians for almost eight decades I can’t think of one Holocaust, without thinking of the other, they are forever intertwined in my soul when I see Palestinians suffering genocide, when I see anyone suffering genocide, I see my family and know it easily could be me, too I’m filled with a terrible sorrow, but also a terrible rage it’s a feeling like no other, one I can’t put into words but this, I can say — Zionist crimes, the Holocaust of Palestinians, are unforgivable. The Chief Rabbi of Ukraine has come out in defense of neo-Nazis who were making Nazi salutes in central Kyiv. The thing is, it was Korchynskyi’s Brotherhood. I know members of Korchynskyi’s Brotherhood. They are marginals and the lowest of the low, some of whom consider themselves Aryans, hate Jews, hate Roma, and hate everyone. At the same time, Ukraine’s Chief Rabbi has defended neo-Nazis more than once. I think Korchynskyi’s numerous statements- that Jews were responsible for the Holocaust, that Ukrainians have no need to apologize for Babyn Yar, and that Jews are, by definition, stupid-would be of great interest to millions of Jews. And if you had sent such a Chief Rabbi of Ukraine to Kyiv in, say, 1942, he would probably have claimed that Babyn Yar had been invented by the communists. I think Israel should finally do something about this most vivid representative of the “I see nothing, I hear nothing, it’s all not so clear-cut, there are no Nazis in Ukraine” mindset. The situation is becoming far too disgraceful.

It pains me to know that the belief is that a therapist role is to "validate". I do not validate. If you are with me in a clinical setting and what you're saying doesn't make any damn sense, I'm going to have you walk me through it. What I've discovered is that a lot of the dysfunction people have is that they've never articulated their beliefs and so have no idea how absurd they are. Simply going through the exercise of having to explain yourself can be deeply rewarding. It's something we call "accountability". You literally account for yourself. Sure, I've had some female clients chimp out and flee never to be seen again at their first contact with a mirror. I've had many others weep openly that actually being held psychologically. One I will never get out of my mind was a wonderful 30-something year old woman who cried and said, "I have been in therapy for 7 years. Why has nobody ever challenged me and help me see that I'm the one causing all this shit?" That's an important question. And it's crucial that if you see a therapist, you don't see a charlatan. You can tell the good ones by their headgear.
