If a child has an opinion about a foreign policy question, will they be allowed to express it? We all have the internet. Most kids who attend a state-funded inner-city or rural school will possibly never have a Jewish classmate. If a parent has “legitimate concerns” about enrolling their child in a school that is “too black” or “too Muslim” (using these as examples, because it’s what Reform complain about – schools not having enough white children), what will Reform do about that? What does that do for integration, common understanding, intermixing and social cohesion? Will Reform ban religious symbols and clothing in schools like the kippa, crucifixes, the Star of David, the hijab, turbans, the Kufi, the bindi. Banning Culture Day, is that on the table with Reform UK? The recommendation in the report says to “promote Jewish culture and history and the contributions of Jewish people in Britain”. Does Reform accept this and why is it trying to water down the contributions of other backgrounds and their contributions, culture and history? Shouldn’t schools promote the cultural and historical contributions and people of those pupils backgrounds?
