Chrysler opened a new plant. Ford went on a hiring spree. The main reason most people couldn’t get those jobs… overwhelmingly Black people who applied is because they couldn’t pass the drug test. Stephen A. Smith: But how prevalent is that, Anton? You can find those cases, but to give the impression that’s the vast majority is where the problem occurs. Tharon Johnson: Anton, let’s go back to Detroit. You can’t tell me people aren’t benefiting from having Mary Sheffield in office. She earned it. She ran against the establishment. Tharon Johnson: But I agree with Stephen A. Let’s not put this on Black folks. Hispanics fail drug tests. Asians fail. White people fail too. We can’t isolate that to just the Black community.
