I further shared a Scripture that The President himself brought to our attention in Cabinet orientation: Ecclesiastes 3:1— _“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.”_ This is a call for leaders to stop abandoning what we ought to do and chasing what we ought not to do. So where is the Secretary of Education? Today, there’s a scheduled Matatag Agenda presentation at the Senate. Guess what! The Secretary of Education was not there, neither the Undersecretary who is responsible for the curriculum. They sent someone who is not even in the room when the Secretary approved the curriculum. Lols. This is what I have been saying all along! The Vice President is taking a lot of redundant tasks but cannot be there for matters like the Matatag agenda. That major education reform meant to address the 90% learning poverty. Is she not interested? 🤦🏽‍♀️ If there is one thing in common in every assessment of the K-12 curriculum, it is the fact that it has “too many learning competencies”. And there she is adding peace education because “it’s very close to her heart”. Is she serious?! Later, DepEd cleared out that it’s not another learning competency per se but assurance that peace education is reflected in the curriculum. Imagine 9 out of 10 (10 years old) kids cannot read and write. Imagine that! But it seem as though the Vice President’s heart is not in education :( At least that’s how it looks like. Maybe perhaps she can request for a post she really wants instead. Education crisis needs extra time and attention. Nope, we don’t need to see her plant trees for teachers. So where is the Secretary of Education? Today, there’s a scheduled Matatag Agenda presentation at the Senate. Guess what! The Secretary of Education was not there, neither the Undersecretary who is responsible for the curriculum. They sent someone who is not even in the room when the Secretary approved the curriculum. Lols. This is what I have been saying all along! The Vice President is taking a lot of redundant tasks but cannot be there for matters like the Matatag agenda. That major education reform meant to address the 90% learning poverty. Is she not interested? 🤦🏽‍♀️ If there is one thing in common in every assessment of the K-12 curriculum, it is the fact that it has “too many learning competencies”. And there she is adding peace education because “it’s very close to her heart”. Is she serious?! The sacred #Jain idols of our faith, particularly the idols of the Vandaniya Tirthankar, a revered centerpiece of our religious heritage, have been suddenly removed from their rightful place near the steps of the temple. To our utter dismay and anguish, these venerable images of Tirthankar Gods have been discarded and placed amidst a heap of garbage which are consecrated centuries ago. This act not only disrespects our faith but also violates several constitutional and legal provisions designed to protect religious practices and sites of worship. In light of these events, we humbly and earnestly request the immediate intervention of the administration to: •Enshrine the Idols: Restore the idols of the Most Reverend Vandaniya Tirthankar to their rightful and revered place with immediate effect. •Initiate Legal Action: Take prompt legal action against those responsible persons namely Shri Surendra Patel, Shri Ashok Pandya and manager Shri Vikrambhai for this sacrilegious act under the relevant sections of the law. Legal Provisions Violated: 1.Violation of Constitutional Rights (Articles 25 to 28): The right to freely profess, practice, and propagate religion, as guaranteed under Articles 25 to 28 of the Constitution of India, has been egregiously violated. These articles ensure that all citizens have the right to worship and maintain religious practices without fear or hindrance. 2.The Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991: This Act prohibits the conversion of any place of worship and mandates the preservation of its religious character as it existed on the 15th day of August, 1947. It states that whoever destroys, damages, or defiles any place of worship or any object held sacred by any class of persons with the intention of insulting their religion, or with the knowledge that such act is likely to insult their religion, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend up to two years, or with fine, or with both.
