Any other small business owners struggling with finding dependable workers? We are 3 hours from home outside our normal territory trying to expand. Had 3 local workers yesterday. Today they just didn’t show back up. Now I’m scrambling. Anyone else deal with this?

Thank you to the workers of Unite Here Local 2 and the Marriott for coming together to make a deal today, offering the latest proof that our great city is on its way back. I’m hopeful this deal lays the groundwork for quick resolutions at the other two hotels still impacted by the strike. This historic resolution will positively impact not only our economy, but also our working families, our hospitality industry, and all San Franciscans. Business and labor stand united in ensuring our best days are yet to come. I commend the parties for working together to bring our workers back.

This labor force is going to expand a lot as more of our parents reach older age, and these folks need to be paid a fair wage. These are some of the most exploited workers in the country. Oftentimes, their shifts are extremely long, and they have to work in very tough conditions. We were woken up at 3 in the morning with dogs and snipers walking into our rooms, they woke us up every 2 hours to prevent us from sleeping. Small business owners who have given decades to this community are telling me this is the hardest they've ever had it. Tourists aren't coming; costs keep climbing; and workers now need three or four jobs to survive. This is Trump's economy. These are the businesses that built and make Colorado. We can't just stand by as Republicans' bad federal policies tear them down.

We drove through the desert today, and went to the most remote village in China. Took about 3 hours off-roading there, and three hours back. No cellphone signal. Population around 100 and we had lunch with them. They are Uyghurs.

He has made it clear that non-performance, corruption, and indiscipline will no longer be tolerated. The Minister has vowed to deal decisively with any public servant found engaging in malpractice, bribery, ghost workers, or failing to deliver services to the people. “All local government officials and staff must serve with integrity, accountability, and dedication. This is a final warning, we shall take firm action against anyone who undermines public service,” the Minister emphasised. Local government workers are advised to take note and align themselves with the expectations of the new leadership.

I went back today with back up and found him. This is a dog who has had the life sucked out of him by ticks and illness. He was living on a building site that just finished. The workers left so he was alone and hungry. He had nothing (3/7)
