Exactly. The 1A is a functional prohibition against any speech-restricting activity by Congress. It has no carve-outs allowing attacks against foreign citizens in the US or foreigners posting statements from outside the US. The phrase "Congress shall make no law" seems lost on most members of Congress, and no Pres has such authority to silence anyone, of course.

@ggreenwald Can anyone please explain to me how it is in the best interests of We The People to allow non-citizens (other than credentialed diplomats) to engage in political activity inside the US? I don't get it.

@ggreenwald If they committed a crime or they're here illegally then i'm ok with them being deported. I'm not ok with people (citizens) being criminalized over words that are protected by the first amendment.

Will Rahul Gandhi condemn the police action by the government he supports? Are the students of Jharkhand any less deserving of justice? Student rights cannot depend on which party is in power. Justice cannot be selective.
