whatever you do, don't take a yard stick and slap it super hard on your desk so it makes a really loud sound and say "QUIET!!!" I remember my elementary school teacher doing this! LOL I like your idea a lot better.

When I was in school. We got a self chart on our desk. It had 3 rewards that were food related. if you were good you got a star. If you got 3 stars in one row you got the reward. To get it you had to be quite always listen and doing good work

Good idea! Sticker charts for a whole class are a lot of work, but may be my next try. :)

I was at an elementary school for Ruby Bridges Day last year and to get 200 grade school kids to shut up the principal held up her hand with I guess the school gesture. One by one the kids fell in line. Disciplined and effective.

Old fashioned time out! I would not be a fan of bribing the children to do something that they Should be doing.

I'm only going on what worked when I was little but stickers are good motivation. Perhaps a sticker board tracking the ones that were quiet the most and maybe at the end of the quarter they get like a special prize of some sort. Bribery goes a long way.

I was a teacher aid for seven years voluntary teacher aid when my kids were in elementary school. They put the talkers in front of the teacher🤷‍♀️

Your idea with the tickets is good for today's kids. In my day, all you had to say was "if you don't keep quiet your going to the principals office & we're calling your parents." Guess traditional punishment is no longer a threat.
