Isn’t it cute how Saudi Arabia and Mossad are cooperating to bypass the Straight of Hormuz. Except they left out one important detail. Although the East–West Crude Oil Pipeline allows Saudi oil to reach the Red Sea, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz, there’s still a shortfall of oil exports. Saudi Arabia produces about 10 mb/d, while the pipeline can carry ~5–7 mb/d at maximum capacity. It’s also not hard for Iran to knock out this pipeline if they want. However around 20 mb/d of global oil normally passes through Hormuz. Therefore, the pipeline reduces Saudi vulnerability but cannot fully offset the Hormuz blockade or global supply disruption by more than 13 mb/d. And guess what happens when Ansar’Allah show up and reimpose their Red Sea and Gulf of Aiden blockade?
