I normally fry my pickle chicken. 1 day in pickle juice, then 3-4 hours in buttermilk..then bread it with flour dredge and fry.. Fair earning: It’s addictive..

Decades ago I learned this from a chef, and as a lifelong pickle hater I was skeptical. But yeah - barbecue chicken that's been marinated in pickle juice (30 mins will do) always WINS. 😍

This seems to be the consensus, pickle juice it is!

I've added pickle juice to brines but never done it straight like this.

I save pickle juice almost as religiously as I do bacon grease, and it is 100% for use as a chicken brine.
