It’s not the contact with the ball that caused the penalty, it’s the fact that the defender “made” your player fall/trip after the fact that caused the card. Just bad mechanics as per usual.

Thats a fair penalty. After your defender kick the ball and the striker fall onto your player he kicked the opposition in the gut. Thats a foul and a red card...
