And after your gran was gone, you wish you had listened more closely, because their minds contained wisdom you'll never get from anywhere else, ever again.

When you opened the biscuit tin, and it was just a load of sewing gear 😫

😂 hated it back then. I’d go back in a heartbeat though. That felt a safe time in life and everyone I loved was still alive

The only bit that jars is where the boy puts his feet up on the settee. Shoes on the furniture??? Not flipping likely. You wouldn't have dared because you knew you'd never hear the end of it!

Every weekend to nan’s house - I loved it! Dad stayed home lol but mum and nan would chat together in the kitchen while making the Sunday roast and I’d either watch The Waltons or Little House on the Prairie or play with the dog or be sneaking upstairs looking for readable books.

My Nan and Grandad lived about five minutes away, and I was up there most of the time, by choice as they spoilt me 🤣 This scene was my aunts and uncles really.

Accurate except for the chocolate biscuit part. No one was ever told that.

Yes. Except instead of chocolate biscuits you couldn’t have, there were cakes you could have (but they had currants in, ugh).

My gran lived across the country. Every two weeks were phone calls I didn't like and had nothing to say. Presents that were cheesy, homemade teddy bear sweaters I never wore. I barely knew her, my kid self thought she was boring. She died when I was 21 and I miss everything.

If I was lucky my great nan had been baking. I’d leave feeling sick from cake and cups of tea. Boring as hell but I’d give anything to do it again

i felt like this as a kid too and this is quite accurate, but my grandma always showed me the bowl of chocolates that I loved to munch. as a kid, you tend to get bored.. but as i grew older and my grandparents were all gone, i missed those times everything ends so quickly..

For an entire summer my parents left me at my grandparents house every weekend. There was nothing to do - no toys, no books and my Gran had 13 brothers and sisters who rotated visits every Sunday. All bar one totally ignored me and when visiting I wasn't even allowed the TV on.

At my nans house, she kept the bathroom window open 24/7, even during the winter, the toilet seat felt like sitting on a block of ice
