Yeah it has always been possible as the infotainment system (AMD Ryzen) and FSD (HW4) does not share processors.

I've done it a few times. Grok walked me through it and said FSD still worked. First time was interesting; now it's no big deal.

Not too concerning in a 3 or Y. But in that truck I know what kind of visibility you get out of the rear mirror.
