Anyone else think the dwarves setting up their shield wall looks awesome? Just how quickly and efficiently they do it too. I like this battle scene a lot because it shows the dwarves and elves both studying and preparing for each other’s tactics, while also underestimating each other. First,... the elves think the dwarves are only used to close combat battles in the mines, so they try to overwhelm them with arrows. But the dwarves are prepared and counter them with ballistas that were clearly designed for exactly that. Then the dwarves charge at the elves with goats, thinking they’re only used to fighting from a distance in the woods behind the trees, only to be surprised by the elves’ incredibly organized spear formation, which traps the riders.show more

Complete fan made bullshit that never happened in the books. This is retarded as fuck cgi. Beasts that were never there, battles completely ruined due to Jackson. He did good in LOTR even with the extra stuff he added. The actors in the hobbit are amazing besides the cgi orc bosses and making rhadigast retarded. But he whole hobbit should’ve been 2 movies max. 75% less cgi and none of the gay ass fuckin shit Jackson added… like this whole battle. So much here that he added and slaughtered the book. Both sides prepared for the other and still underestimated them. That is the whole scene.

That battle sequence really showed how quickly the momentum can shift when both sides know how to counter each other. The dwarves arriving with that formation was a great moment.

I love how the Dwarves don’t just arrive looking intimidating — they immediately prove how ridiculously prepared they are. 😂 The shield wall snaps into place, the ballistas tear the Elven arrows out of the sky, then the goat riders charge in. The Extended Edition really makes the Iron Hills army feel like an absolute nightmare to fight.

The best part was the dwarves setting up a perfect shield wall. Ya know, for protection…? Just for the elves to jump over it. It just completely defeats the purpose. It’s the worst battle ever put on screen in the modern day. And the CGI makes it look AI.

The elves were stupid as fuck for jumping over that wall instead of arching arrows over it. They had the textbook army composition to win the fight and they lost the plot smh. The spear wall operated for exactly 0.0seconds smfh😭🙏

The orc army should have just sat back and let the dwarves and elves fight to the end. Then attack. Never interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake.

I really love mirkwood elf armor design, it's so sad they only appeared shortly in movie then gone to nowhere, considering how many of them there were, yet the battle scenes focused on dwarf

The shield wall going up that fast is criminal. Elves thought they were fighting miners. Dwarves thought they were fighting archers. Both got humbled in 4K.

When those who stand together in the mode of truth & honestly always relying on ea h other not Evil can prevail. The dwarves set sheilds in front of the elves and the elves used that front to attack over top. Always work together.
