Anyone who knows Crowborough will understand how deeply this is affecting our town. This government is putting our community at risk, and at times we feel powerless. Yet we remain united - working tirelessly together behind the scenes - we won’t give in.

Until is starts affecting many towns which it will people will to continue to be asleep because it is not affecting them.

Been and trained in that camp. Last I checked it's still an active training grounds for Armed Forces and Forces Cadets. Apparently housing migrants takes priority over training and activities for citizen Forces and Cadet activities. Suppose they'll train the migrants for war?

Unfortunately, Friday was the final day the Cadets had access to the site. Many reisdents went down to clap them out on Thursday and Friday. The site is officially handed to the Home Office tomorrow (although they’ve been doing works there for weeks). Sickening.

You voted in a "refugees welcome" MP, until it was decided to place said economic migrants in your location, then suddenly it's "refugees not welcome after all". When useful idiots reap the karma they sow.🙄

Crowborough is a wealthy area. There will be locals who are lawyers, and residents with money and resources who can fight and advocate for the area. Not so much for the towns and villages up North who’ve gone before 😥

It’s devastating that this can happen to any community. We’re mounting a costly legal challenge, but we’re well aware that the system is set against us. I feel deeply for all the other communities suffering with HMOs, camps, and hotels

@daveatherton Sadly unless you block the site like the Welsh did then these marches are quite simply pointless. Plan to occupy the site or block it. Nothing else can stop it.

@daveatherton We’ve also been doing this, with volunteers taking turns covering the entrance whenever they have time. Once the news breaks, or we see movement, we will all descend to the site.

@WeAreYellows49 Lived in Crowborough for 3 yrs. When in TW worked at a Crowborough school for 5 yrs. Brother did training at the camp. Bet the HO will make improvements to accommodation for new residents because they'll claim current state not good enough despite being so for Service Personnel

It’s not just Crowborough, it is every town and city. Did you fight against this before these people were going to be placed in your town? NO I didn’t think so.

I have been vocal about my views on this matter and personally voted for Reform. But yes, unfortunately a lot of people put their faith in other parties and have been seriously let down.

I love to see communities working together. I wish however, that there was a way to unite our local-voices online, so they can't ignore us, or wait for us to go away. Citizens need a mechanism on X to unite their geographical voices! Location-based forums is that mechanism. We have more in common than they say we do.
