Why do you have to do that? Not necessary
It’s absolutely necessary - that’s literally what the table is supposed to do. It has no other purpose. The design is garbage (2nd position). With the legs positioned like that, they’ll wear out extremely fast. Like I said, it’s no good.

It's a great idea. I have a small flat with no room for a seperate dining table and have acquired some long legs that convert my coffee table to a dining table. This is for the same purpose and looks a great solution.
