This fight was probably the most visually stimulating to kid me

It's such a simple concept of light vs dark but done so well

>OG samurai jack It's been twenty three years pal, that shit is ancient.

Shits still good

Very good.

This is amazing. But do you have an example that’s recent? Like 5 years ago or newer?

That's an episode of a TV show that came out in 2003. That is not "modern" by any means lmao

@UltimaOmar It's still good animation

fair

That was cool as fuck.

It's by far one of the greatest animated fights The concept, the action, the sound mixing it's all peak

How did it end?

Jack flings his sword and nails the ninja right in the chest

There's so much in this fight; how Jack forces Shinobi to make the first move to Jack forcing Shinobi away in each engagement to the sun setting, reminding Jack that the whole tower will be in darkness and he'll be exposed. It's incredible and you can feel that tension

I forgot how absolutely beautiful this show is

Favorite scenes were always of jack walking Really let the background shine

time for a rewatch

this is fucking sick i really should watch this show

Brother you’ve missed the point by about 20 years

It’s a good show, you just completely missed the point of the post

I don't remember much about Samurai Jack. Just that it was fun, the Scotsman was a bro and this fight.

What can I say but-

Best use of color in animation history imo

Woooooo samurai jack was the most bad ass thing ever created by humanity. The whole series belongs in an art gallery playing 24/7 with free admission.

@bandwidthslayer @mousep0p @Dorriiaan easily top 10 in the whole show

I remember watching this as a kid and being at the edge of my seat for the entire thing

No fucking way, this is awesome

More of an example of how western animaters use to do things, and stands as a bar which shows how far animation in the west has degraded. But that's the same with most media coming out of Hollywood.

Genndy Tartakovsky is an animator the future should've studied. Instead, it seems a lot of animations today are only worried about copying good art without understanding what made them good.

Honestly i wish that there are anime that are this aesthetically pleasing especially with the whitespace which most Japanese visual artists just seems really allergic to. Most of the time they are so filled to the brim with stuff, colorful background and every scene has a BGM.

the fact that that fight hasn't been done in video game form is sad

Yeah don’t see stuff like this anymore

Tartakovsky is built different, man.

@WonderWaffle93 You should have read the comment attached to that post

" I was trained to use da light " first time I heard that and saw it, I was, ok 😯💯

ok this is epic

Seriously, this was one of the best episodes and had a lot of tension.

I remember this episode inspired a game where black and white ninjas battled on stages that are only black and white with blood trails being the main way to spot enemies. Sadly it was cancelled

Samurai Jack was such a phenomenal show.

Mesmerizing animated art.

You know people were afraid of Adult Swim lol

Amazing scene, not modern. Thanks for the reminder to get back on my rewatch.

@DemilyPyro

I only see spy vs spy.

I agree this is great, and that the person you quoted is wrong (a lot of Western animation isn't great but there is some amazing stuff) But this clip is old as hell lol
