Apologetic for my harsh comments on Joel Webbon’s post late last night.

When you get over your pride and realize that your vote is a tool to obtain things you want (in this case bare minimum preventing a congressional until birth abortion law) , then feel free to join us.

I don’t have any pride here. Were I to care more about the pride of life I would be carelessly throwing my vote away and going with the multitudes of professing Christians and marking a ballot in contrast to what I profess to truly believe. Perhaps you are accusing me of pride in the place of making a biblical case against my argument that the bible clearly states that God turns his face against cultures that allow child sacrifice (Lev 20, Isa 1, Amos 5, etc) and that the shedding of innocent blood pollutes the land (Num 35) and that this is the worst thing for the children of prideful podcasters as well as their enemies and most innocent neighbors.

Preach it.

“We love our own children more than we love the justice of God, the law of God, and our neighbors who are made in the image of God.” This was convicting, thank you.

What about Matthew 10:16, where Jesus says, "Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves”? I don’t know about that pastor you are referencing but as far as being an abolitionist and voting for Trump goes, from my perspective and limited biblical knowledge there is a thing called political strategy to be considered. And while abortion plagues our world so do many other evils such as human trafficking of children and the poisoning of our children and the sexualization and mutilation of our children. No candidate is perfect. But we must strive to do much good as in 1 Peter 2:9–17. Additionally, we are all sinners. There will never be a perfect candidate. We need to glorify God as much as possible and just handing over an election to pure evil by abstaining from voting or writing in a candidate who has no shot, in vain, is handing the fate of the nation over to evil en masse. This will only cause more death, destruction and evil to persist in the world. That seems to me (no biblical scholar by any means) not what God would want but what Satan would want. Can you help me understand?

All this discussion to the side, I am responding specifically to the atrocious tweet he made to try and justify his position by pitting loving his born children against loving his neighbors and enemies, and doing what God says we are to do in our rebellious cultures (remove Child sacrifice and establish justice). Regardless of your own argument to support voting against abolishing abortion in this culture of death, I am deeply appalled that this pastor/podcaster who proclaims a high view of scripture and love for God, would make the awful argument/statement that he did.
