Two massive showers greet you when you enter the small chapel. But they’re not showers, they’re specially plumbed and elaborately designed Wudu purification stations exclusively for Muslim use to wash themselves before prayer. The strange part about this is that no other religion gets any type of accommodation at all. The rest of the chapel is just an empty room with some chairs. I’m sure Catholics, Jews, Hindus and Scientologists (idk) would love to get expensive segregated accommodations paid for by tax dollars in public spaces. Thankfully, Governor Greg Abbott has put a stop to this by cutting all state funding for these. Muslim employees at the US State Department even set up “reflection rooms” for Islamic prayer and they encourage Muslim employees to hand out Ramadan guides to their non-Muslim colleagues so they can learn how to be sensitive to Islamic holidays.
